Nucleon
Nucleon - Play Online
Nucleon is a physics arcade shooter with a chemistry twist. Split atoms. Dodge unstable isotopes. Master 20 levels of neon chaos. Developed by Severin, this HTML5 brain-teaser runs anywhere. No downloads. Just science and reflex.
How to Play Nucleon
The Goal: Fire lasers upward. Break atoms into smaller particles. Kr splits into Ar. Ar splits into Ne. Ne into He. He into H. Avoid U-235 at all costs—it's lethal. Clear levels before atoms overwhelm the screen. Survive 20 stages. Master fission.
Core Mechanic: Atom Splitting
Position your scientist under floating atoms. Press W (P1) or ↑/Space (P2). Laser fires upward. Large atoms like Krypton (Kr) break into two smaller ones—Argon (Ar). From level 4 onward, unstable atoms shatter into four particles at once. Chain reactions score big. Miss a shot? Atoms pile up fast.
Progression: 20 Levels of Escalating Chaos
Start simple. By level 10, timers accelerate atom spawns. Wind gusts shift trajectories mid-air. Platforms block beams—forcing you to reposition. Pull the lever to lock barriers into place. Each stage adds new modifiers. No two levels feel the same.
Power-Ups: 9 Isotope Canisters
Every 3–8 seconds, boosters drop as glowing canisters. Grab them for instant advantages:
- Time Stretch: Slow atom movement. Perfect for crowded screens.
- Triple Beam: Fire three lasers simultaneously. Clear clusters fast.
- Jetpack: Fly horizontally. Dodge platforms and reposition.
- Evaporation: Destroy all on-screen atoms instantly.
Two-Player Co-Op: Split the Work
Nucleon supports full local co-op. P1 (green) controls with A/D/W. P2 (blue) uses ←/→/↑. Cover different screen zones. One player baits atoms. The other shoots. Coordinate power-up grabs. Shared score. Shared chaos.
Key Features
- 20 hand-crafted levels: Timers, wind, platforms, levers—mechanics stack exponentially.
- 9 tactical power-ups: Drop every 3–8 seconds. Master the rotation.
- Real fission logic: Kr → Ar → Ne → He → H. Learn the periodic table while playing.
- Two-player co-op: Local multiplayer. One keyboard. Two scientists.
- Mobile-ready controls: Touch icons (◀ ▶ ▲ ❚❚) adapt seamlessly to phones and tablets.
- Minimalist neon visuals: Low-budget vector art with sharp glow shaders. Runs lag-free on any browser.
Who is Nucleon for?
Perfect for teens who love brain-training games with arcade speed. Great for classrooms—sneaky chemistry practice. Ideal for couch co-op sessions. If you dig physics puzzles or blow-up games with strategy depth, Nucleon nails it.
